The German immigrant came to England after studying philosophy in Heidelberg. Though, she is very well educated, she only got a job at the London Electricity Board. Nevertheless, she loves her job as she loves being in England, away from post-war Germany. Her German accent cannot be overheard but she tries hard to adapt to the English culture and language. Her love for art and modernism cause the others to mix her up with Mrs Bamberger, the German deaf millionaire. That’s why people keep yelling at her and cling to every word she says. When the others find out that she is only the electrician, upper class snobbery kicks in and she is confined to the cellar. Nevertheless, she avails herself of the opportunity of celebrating a great finish when she creates the light in the end.

Host/Lion/Mrs. Long-Name/Suicide
Melanie Röper surprised in Confusions as a mother removed from reality. This season we will see her as a wild animal attacking poor Thisbe and, who knows, maybe she is the real reason for the tragic end of that doomed love story. Well, never trust a lion anyway. On the other hand, it might not be easy for Mrs. Long-Name to speak in complete sentences and whether severe therapy may help… I don’t know. Whether it has to do with her speech disorder or not, jumping off a bridge might the appropriate end for a lost watch or a broken fingernail. Or will someone come to save them? Come in and find out.

Lucy (Mother Figure)
Dunno, what went wrong in Lucy’s life. But she has a strong relationship with her children. She is the most devoted mother in the world, but also very strict. However, who are her kids anyway? You could think she does not know it, either. When her children are asleep, the neighbours have to put their necks on the line in order to satisfy her mother instincts.
