Dino – Mr. Poddle
WS 2006/07
Dino (Mr. Poddle) (Mother Figure)
He is the much adored yellow superstar on stage. His soft exterior and pink spots could mark him as a minor character of the theatre world but, actually, he is an experienced and versatile actor, who has performed on Europe’s most famous stages, for instance in France and, of course, in England (most notably, his contemporary portrayal of Shakespeare’s Hamlet – “To roar or not to roar”).
In Alan Ayckbourn’s Confusions, Dino gives us an absolutely stunning performance as Mr Poddle, the cherished and, at the same time, deeply exploited companion of Lucy Compton and her children. There he is, belittled as a mere soft toy and forced to put up with every whim of both Mrs Compton and Terry; yet again, he rises from the ashes, stronger and louder than he has ever been! His impressive vocal abilities, which are an excellent match for Lucy’s powerful exclamations, enrapture the audience as well as his partners on stage. He sure knows how to put a smile on a women’s face (Rosemary can give first-hand evidence)!
Thus it is Dino’s spectacular appearance that represents a highlight of the play and his presence, together with the sublime fellow cast, ensures that the audience can enjoy a truly amazing evening!
Listen to dino’s roar!
