Summer Semester 2008

For our fourth season, you will accompany young Constance Ledbelly on the wild and possibly drug induced journey into the worlds of Othello and Romeo & Juliet. There, the young assistant professor of Shakespearean literature is destined to either find her true self, or otherwise to be a homosexual transsexual that is about to stab herself to death.

Constance, the assistant professor of her boss, Claude Night, finds herself in a struggle to complete her doctorate at the beginning of the play. Being blinded by her love for Claude and generelly considered to be a mouse by her department, ensure that Constance immerses herself even deeper into the plays of Shakespeare, until, one day, she is actually beamed right into one of these plays.

You will watch in awe at Constance’s meeting Desdemona & Othello and Romeo & Juliet. You will burst with laughter when first Romeo and then Juliet fall in love with her. Maybe you will see a part of yourself in Constance’s search for the fool in Shakespeare’s plays. But if the person she is really looking for is not a fool, who is it?
